I had the pleasure of working with Hugh and Diana on their August 24th wedding at the AMAZING Lafayette Club. Brenda and the Lafayette staff were amazing and it was a great experience! I loved all of the Jewish elements that they incorporated and it was lovely to see how this family celebrated the day. Thank you to Kelly Brown Weddings for the wonderful images!!

Incorporating Cultural Traditions...
One area of my job I enjoy a lot is the constant education into different cultures and all of their traditional wedding traditions. When I was sitting back and thinking about writing this blog I was amazed by how many different cultures we were touched with this year. We did 3 Nigerian Weddings, a Laos Wedding, 2 Korean Ceremonies, Incorporated Philippine Traditions into the wedding, and coordinated 3 Jewish Weddings.
Not only is it interesting to see how different cultures and religions incorporate items into the ceremony and wedding, it is fun to learn together on why these items are so special. The Vibrant colors that are worn by Nigerian women are so beautiful, the traditional dresses from the Korean ceremonies are so unique and of course the Jewish Hora dance is one of my favorite parts of a wedding. I will never forget the first time I saw it, the energy that is in that room is amazing and electrifying. Enjoy the collection of photos that showcase all of the Cultural Weddings we have done this year along with some of my favorite traditions!

Featured on The Wedding Shoebox
I was contacted by Valerie Metrejean, owner of Southern Fete event planning. She was starting a new blog called Wedding Shoebox to feature some inspiration boards and ideas from even professionals all over the US!
She contacted me about a month ago and asked me to send over 8-12 photos of what I would do for my own wedding...
Now it seems like an easy and fun task... but I found myself searching around and really thinking.. what would I do. I did have a wedding only a few years ago, but I think of new ideas everyday. There are very few things I would change about my own wedding day... but I would change to a whole different “kind” of wedding. You will note the inspiration board that was done by Valerie based on the ideas that I sent over was a destination wedding. I love the beach, and even though I did not get married there, I always thought about what it would have been like.
Pantone names Turquoise the color of the year, and as you can tell.. I am a big fan as well!! Enjoy... and use this great new blog as a resource to find some ideas and color inspiration!

Kristen and Dustin - January 15th
Here is a Sneak Peak of Kristen and Dusty’s January 15th wedding.... I had so much fun planning this with Kristen and Dustin. Kristen’s Dad said it best during his speech... “Kristen is a girl with so much passion” She is someone that it is impossible not to be excited around. She is so energetic and I absolutly feel like I left with a great friend! Our vendors were amazing and mother nature really helped out and took a break from the FREEZING cold to give us a great Friday! Kristen and Dusty are off on their wonderful Caribbean Honeymoon.. but I can not wait to post more when she gets back and when I get the professional photos from the Amazing Preston....
Thanks to all of the great vendors.. Here are the pictures from my iphone (so they are not the best quality...)

The Golden Globes Fashion and the Bridal Industry...
Like Most girls out there.. I have long watched The Golden Globes.... and I care less about the winners and losers and more about the clothes. I would say for my personal prefereance I did not see a lot of dresses that were amazing.. but the one think that I noticed that stood out was the general styles... one shoulder dresses and ruffles. These 2 trends were everywhere and sometimes even combined. I have noticed that a lot in the wedding market as well! I think that a lot of these dresses could be doubled as a wedding dress in the right color as well!!
I can’t wait and see what the SAG Awards and the Oscars fashion brings!!!!
