A few weeks ago I got an email from Brynn, the wonderful writer of Smart Bride Blog. She had asked me if I would want to contribute to her blog, needless to say I was very excited as I had already been an avid reader. So Thanks Brynn, for always bringing inspiration to brides and women!
Check out her wonderful Blog!
Life is Great... from a Beach Chair
Greetings from The Carribean Sea.... I took a break from Tanning and Site Seeing to download a few pictures...
We are just off the coast of St. Lucia and it is a balmy 82 degrees... for all of you that know me... you know I hate sunscreen... well, for the first time I was really warm and a little burnt.. so 50 SPF was a great friend of mine!
I am having issues downloading emails... so all of my brides and vendors.. I will be back to you on Monday or Tuesday!!

Lisa and Gary - October 3
Lisa and Gary Were another one of my wonderful October Weddings... As you can see from the great photos... the rain was looming! Lisa and Gary hired me about a year before their wedding, they were so organized and spent a lot of time getting all of the details of their wedding planned out. Gina from Truth be shown showcased their wedding wonderfully. The fall colors were vibrant and the MN boat Club served as a great cozy backdrop for this great wedding. Thank you to Mintahoe for great food and Sharon Planer for not only wonderful music, but for setting up outside and then having to shuffle inside. Lisa and Gary, I wish you all of the hapiness... you deserve it!
Luck of the Irish...
I have always loved St. Patty’s day... Its a few days after my birthday, incorporates a lot of bright green, encourages kissing and lets not forget about the green beer (I have never actually had any... but I do love watching a lot of people walk around with green teeth). But my favorite St. Patrick’s Day memory happened a few years ago.... Andy Proposed on St. Patrick’s Day and I was VERY surprised!
Have a great and safe St. Patrick’s Day!

Jamie and Tony - March 13th
I was so excited when I got the phone call that Jamie and Tony were getting married, not only because they are a wonderful couple but because I love their family! I was actually planning Jamie’s Sisters wedding when Anne, Jamie’s Mother, called me about helping with two weddings! Anne did a great job of pulling together 2 daughters weddings in 1 year! I was so happy to help and I was very excited for yesterday. I love winter weddings and it is fun to break up the winter with a great big celebration. Jamie and Tony picked McNamara Alumni Center. What a great venue! I had never worked there before and now I can not wait to get back there! Jessica was wonderful to work with and Damico had amazing food like Always! Ruth from Happily Ever After took wonderful photos and I am so excited to see them! In the mean time, take a look at some of my wonderful assistant Andrea’s snapshots of the big day!!
Jamie and Tony, I was honored to work with you.. have a great time in Cancun! Anne and Tony, I could have not asked for a more wonderful experience..Thank you for letting me be a part of both of your daughters lives!

It's Oscar Time...
It’s Oscar Time and this year, like the Golden Globes.. the fashion was looking more and more Bridal and Beautiful. Can you Imagine these dresses walking down the aisle? I sure can!! The Pale Colors, The Glitz, The Ruffles.. These dresses all stunning, and this year I heard an interview that more and more stylists are looking to wedding gowns for red carpet events. They can then have them dyed different colors to transform them, but as you can see.. the structures of a wedding gown is still very apparent.
Your Married.. You Have a Great Dress... Now What??

Usually after the wedding my loving couples say good bye to me and get on with the rest of their Happily Ever After!! One of the questions I rarely get asked is about “What do I do with my dress”. I think a lot of brides decide to get their dress dry cleaned and preserve their dress. That of course is a great idea and will preserve your dress for many years to come. But I want a lot of brides to know.. that is not your only option.. actually that is one of many routes you can go!!

- The newest way to “get rid of your dress after the big day” is to Trash the Dress... now this does not always trash your dress. I did not realize that until I saw my assistants dress. She literally sat in a lake and the dress is practically spotless (I was amazed)!!. Trashing the dress became really popular last year, not only to get those creative photos you did not get on the big day.. but to do the things you would never really do in your wedding dress!! There are so many fun ideas you can do. I love this idea and so will your photographer!
- Donate your Dress - Making Memories is a donation service that benefits Breast Cancer. What better idea than helping others with an article of clothing that meant so much to you!
- Use your dress as a keepsake for later. Obviously cleaning the dress and preserving it is still the popular choice of a lot of brides. But what I find so touching are the little things that can keep your dress “alive” for many years to come! I have heard of a lot of brides using parts of their dresses for their child’s baptism gown. I have had a few brides who have incorporated parts of their mothers dress or veil into their bouquet. I have also had a bride sew part of her moms dress into the underneath portion of her dress (that beats wearing a dress with sleeves on your big day!! -- sorry mom!!)
- And of course I feel like I need to share my idea.. I am not exactly sure why I thought of this.. but I had my grandma take my dress and sew a pillow out of it (just a 15 x 15 pillow.. not a full body version!!). So now there is a wonderful pillow on our bed that is made out of one of my most prized possesions. I did have her keep a lot of it for all of the items listed in #3! I knew I would want to keep parts of it.. but I never really card to try and preserve mine. I wanted something I could look at everyday.. and this worked for me (with the thanks of Grandma’s sewing skills)
